I just got home from an interview at a retail store where I was offered a job. However, as soon as I got in, they called me back asking for two references. This is a huge problem for me because the managers from my last job have all left, and the entire staff has been replaced. I literally don't have anyone to provide as a reference, and I'm feeling really stressed about it. I have a lot riding on this opportunity, and I'm not sure how to navigate this situation. I saw some comments suggesting that I could use anyone who can vouch for my work ethic, but I still feel uncertain. I might need to reach out to some former colleagues or friends to see if they can help.
