Applied for internal promotion role after coffee chat with hiring leader

I applied for an internal role at my company on October 14th, right before the application closed. Before applying, I had a coffee chat with the hiring leader, which was rescheduled multiple times, so I decided to submit my application to not miss out. The role is similar to my current position but would be a promotion in a different department, allowing me to take on more strategic responsibilities, which I currently don’t have. During our chat on October 16th, the hiring leader was very pleasant and shared that she had just stepped into her new role and had experience in my current position. We connected well, and she mentioned a preference for in-office candidates but was open to remote applicants for the right fit. I expressed my willingness to come into the office occasionally to build that connection. At the end of our conversation, she encouraged me to let her know if I was interested, and I confirmed that I was, especially since I had already applied to avoid missing the opportunity. She mentioned I would hear back regarding next steps. Now, as of Friday, it will be two weeks since our chat, and I haven’t received any updates. I’m unsure if I should follow up since I requested the coffee chat and don’t want to seem pushy. I’m contemplating whether to reach out to the hiring leader again or contact the recruiter instead. I’m also wondering if the lack of communication means I’m not being considered for the role.
