Coping with the shock of sudden downsizing and team uncertainty at work

Today, I experienced a shocking downsizing at my company. Our team was reduced to a skeleton crew overnight without any warning or discussion. Three of our best teammates were suddenly reassigned to a different team, leaving us with just four members. Now, we’re relying on one backend developer to manage everything, and it feels like we’re barely holding it together. The management mentioned a budget issue, but they haven’t provided any explanation or guidance on what’s next for us. The uncertainty is draining, and it’s tough to stay motivated when I’m constantly worried about being the next one affected. I’m curious if anyone else has faced a similar situation and how they managed to cope mentally.
