Reflecting on Amazon's job cuts in AGI unit and strategic shift to customer-facing AI

I recently learned that Amazon has cut an unspecified number of jobs in their AGI unit as part of a strategic shift. The company is now focusing more on customer-facing AI and practical applications, which seems to be a significant change in direction. This follows the earlier layoffs in January, where 16,000 roles were eliminated across the company. For those of us affected in the U.S., we will receive 90 days of pay and support during this transition.
