Today, I had my redundancy meeting with HR after being laid off from my position. I wasn't contesting the decision, but I did try to negotiate my payout. Unfortunately, they declined my request and simply stated, "it's just business." I was caught off guard and, honestly, felt pretty angry during the meeting. I didn't lash out or anything rude, but I know I came off as more salty and stand-offish than usual. Now I'm questioning if this reaction is normal when facing a layoff. I kept it professional, but it’s hard not to feel frustrated when your life and finances are suddenly in turmoil.
