Navigating Unemployment Benefits as a New Part-Time Contractor

I've been receiving unemployment benefits since early April and recently landed a part-time contracting gig through a friend. The job requires about 10-15 hours of work per week, and I'm classified as a 1099 contractor rather than a W-2 employee. I'm aware that I need to report my income once the work is completed, not when I invoice or receive payment. However, I'm uncertain about how my contractor status might affect my benefits. I currently don't have any business expenses, but I've read that this could play a role in my situation.
