Laid off as an SEO specialist: coping with sudden job loss and uncertainty

I was laid off from my position as an SEO specialist on Wednesday, and it hit me hard. There was no warning; I was just told it was due to "restructuring" and that my termination was effective immediately. I had been managing everything from technical SEO to link building, and I genuinely enjoyed the work and the flexibility it offered, especially since I was working from Asia and my hours often stretched from noon to 2 a.m. to accommodate time differences. What makes this even more painful is that I recently got the keys to my new apartment, and now I’m facing a mortgage and renovation expenses without a job. To add insult to injury, I heard that I was replaced by two interns—unpaid interns, no less. It feels like a slap in the face after putting in so much hard work and dedication. This year has been particularly rough for me; I lost my dog and my uncle, and I was really hoping for a break. I know that working hard doesn't guarantee job security, but going from being overwhelmed with work to suddenly being let go is a tough pill to swallow. I just needed to vent because this whole situation feels so unfair. I'm trying to stay positive and remind myself that I was a top performer, and I hope to find a new job soon.
