Navigating a challenging job transition and considering severance options

I have been working at my company for 4.5 years and have built a strong reputation, even winning multiple awards and receiving recognition from the CMO. Recently, I transitioned to a sales overlay role to bridge the gap with marketing. However, this year has been challenging, and the company culture has become increasingly negative. I've been actively looking for a new job for about a month because I no longer want to stay at the company. Yesterday, I learned that my team is being restructured, and they are trying to find me a new role within the next two weeks. Typically, they lay off employees on the same day, so I believe they are genuinely attempting to relocate me. Alongside this, they are offering a severance package if I choose not to accept any of the new roles they propose. Given my desire to leave, the severance package seems appealing. However, I am concerned about how choosing to take the severance might affect my job search. I've heard that being laid off can negatively impact future employment opportunities, and I'm worried that opting for the severance might look bad to potential employers.
