Navigating the aftermath of my job loss and paycheck dispute

I was fired from my job about two weeks ago, and it was a pretty rough experience. My boss had been scheduling me for only two-hour shifts, which was really difficult for me since my partner had to drive me there. I don't have my own license yet, and it's a 30-minute drive each way. My partner has a genetic disability that makes it hard for her to help out, so I was really struggling with the logistics. I made $15 an hour, but with the long drive and short shifts, it just wasn't working for me. I ended up calling out because I couldn't keep doing it, but my boss had a strange rule that I had to call her and the kitchen to notify them, which she only enforced on me. I was already on thin ice with her due to constant criticism, and I think she was just looking for a reason to fire me. When she fired me, she threatened to withhold my last paycheck unless I returned work shirts she had bought for me. These shirts were around $30 each, and I felt it was unfair to tie my final pay to that. I knew that in my state, they couldn't legally withhold my paycheck like that, regardless of the circumstances. I took screenshots of my hours and waited to see if my paycheck would be approved. When it wasn't approved by the deadline, I reached out to her, but it felt like I was hitting a wall. Now I'm trying to figure out my next steps. I've been advised to contact the labor board if I don't receive my paycheck soon. It's just frustrating to deal with all this after losing my job.
