I recently quit my temp engineering job after several years of hard work. Despite my efforts and multiple attempts to secure a full-time position—about 7 or 8 times—I was consistently overlooked for the role, even when openings arose. This lack of recognition made me feel undervalued and disrespected, so I decided to leave. I was frustrated that my contributions weren't acknowledged, and I wanted to take a stand for myself. After I left, I noticed some colleagues also decided to move on, and a few of my former bosses were let go. I’m not sure if my departure influenced those decisions, but I’m more focused on whether I made the right choice for myself. Did I do the right thing by leaving? It’s hard to say, but I felt like I was being used without any appreciation.
