Facing favoritism at work has motivated me to start my job search

I recently experienced a frustrating situation at my job where I felt the sting of favoritism. I was informed that I would receive a raise "when they see I deserve that," despite the fact that our entire team had been promised raises. This week, I found out that some colleagues who have been with the company for a shorter time than I have, and whose performance isn't superior to mine, have already received their raises. It was disheartening to realize that my two editors seem to have their favorites on the team, and it feels like my hard work is being overlooked. I had really enjoyed being part of this team and thought we all had a supportive relationship. However, this experience has opened my eyes to the reality of favoritism in the workplace, and I now feel compelled to start looking for a new job. It's a tough lesson to learn about trust and friendships at work.
