Navigating Resume Dilemmas After Recent Layoff from Tech Job

I recently got laid off from my position after only 5 months at the company. I've been actively interviewing for new opportunities, but I'm facing a dilemma with my resume. Right now, it states 'current job April-present,' and I'm concerned about how this looks, especially since I plan to update my LinkedIn to show 'April-August' at the end of the month. I haven't been asked directly in interviews about my current employment status, but I'm wondering if it's wrong to not disclose that I'm no longer with the company. I've received some advice from others who have been in similar situations, suggesting that I keep my resume as is for now and just be honest if the topic comes up. It seems like many companies are understanding given the current job market, especially in tech.
