I’ve been job hunting for about six months now, and I've sent out over 250 applications. While I know that’s not a huge number, I’ve been picking up contract work to keep myself afloat in the meantime. Today was particularly tough as I received multiple rejection emails all at once—five in total—from different companies that I had applied to at various times. This isn’t the first time this has happened; it’s actually the fourth time I’ve experienced a bulk of rejections coming in on the same day. It’s strange because some of these applications were submitted weeks or even months apart. I can understand the pattern when it aligns with the start of a month, but today felt random. I can't help but wonder if there’s a larger trend at play, perhaps related to the economy or business cycles, especially since these bulk rejection days account for nearly a third of my total rejections, which currently stands at around 55.
