I finally got an offer! Six months ago, just a week before my birthday, I made a mistake at work that led to my termination. In June, I received severance but had no job lined up despite my relentless search. Today, just hours after getting rejected from yet another position, I received a call from a job I had almost given up on. I was overwhelmed with emotion, cried, hugged my partner, and called my mom to share the news. While it’s not my dream job, it’s a position with the state in a department I truly care about. I want to encourage everyone out there to keep pushing through; there is light at the end of the tunnel.
