Seeking Feedback on Job Search Strategies for Project Management Roles

I have a long career in project management, having spent over 20 years with a large telecommunications company in the UK, focusing on operational delivery and project management. My experience includes managing infrastructure upgrades, office relocations, and supplier coordination. After leaving that role, I transitioned into shorter positions in technology services and engineering, which has made my job search challenging. I'm in my late 40s and currently looking for project management, programme delivery, or PMO roles. Despite having relevant qualifications and securing several interviews, including second rounds, I haven't been able to convert these into job offers. I worry that recruiters might see my recent shorter roles as instability without recognizing the extensive time I spent with my previous employer. I have strong organizational skills and a track record of recovering struggling projects, but I feel I struggle to communicate my experience effectively, especially in showcasing the strategic judgment needed for senior roles. Additionally, being autistic, I sometimes come across as blunt, which complicates my communication further. Currently, I live in a rural area, so I'm limited geographically and would prefer remote or hybrid work arrangements. Financial pressure is mounting as I’m doing part-time retail work while applying for jobs. I'm seeking constructive feedback on how to present my recent roles, which job levels I should target, and how to improve my interview performance. I'm open to difficult feedback and specific suggestions for change.
