Navigating Regret and Tension After My Summer Internship Experience

I recently wrapped up my final summer internship at a top consulting firm, and I can't shake the feeling of regret. During my time there, I was assigned a significant task by the case teams, which involved a lot of manual work done by a four-member team over two days. I managed to automate this process using a simple Python tool, and while my seniors praised my efforts, it created tension among my colleagues. They felt threatened by my efficiency, and I later learned that some analysts were let go after I left. Determined to avoid a repeat of that experience, I started a new internship at a major HR consultancy. On my first day, I was tasked with finding clients and identifying trends. I quickly developed an automated agent that connected to various databases, reducing what was supposed to be a full day's work to just a minute of setup. Again, I received accolades from my seniors, but my teammates were clearly uncomfortable with my speed and efficiency. I fear that my honesty about these automations will lead to a poor peer review, and I'm not expecting a full-time offer this time around either. It feels like a lose-lose situation, and I can't help but think that anyone with basic tech skills could have done what I did. I'm just a newbie trying to navigate this landscape.
