Navigating job search challenges after being laid off from a unique tech role

I was recently laid off from my role at a tech company where I had been for 3.5 years. This position was unique in that it was a "company one of" role, meaning there was only one person in that position within the entire organization. The layoff was part of a cost-saving measure, and while I understand that layoffs can often be tied to performance, I want to clarify that my performance was not an issue. The company only provides verification of dates and titles, so I have no way to explain my situation to potential employers. Despite meeting all the qualifications for jobs I apply to, I'm not receiving any callbacks. I'm trying to make sense of this, especially given the current job market, which seems to be quite challenging. It feels frustrating to be in this position, and I'm looking for any insights or logical explanations for the lack of responses.
