I have been babysitting for nearly 8 years, primarily for family, and I’m ready to move on to a different job. At 28 years old, I feel burnt out from the constant screaming and crying, and I just can’t handle it anymore. I don’t have a degree, which makes my options feel limited, but I’m eager to find something outside of childcare. Some people suggested nursing, but I’m not comfortable with needles or bodily fluids, so that’s off the table for me. I’m considering roles like front desk positions at vet clinics or small offices, where I can utilize my patience and crisis management skills without dealing with kids or medical situations directly. I’ve also heard about medical billing and coding, which seems appealing since it doesn’t require a degree and can often be done remotely after gaining some experience. I’m open to any suggestions or advice on how to transition into a new field.
