I'm currently feeling stuck in a tough situation with my job. I manage the dairy department at a grocery store, which sees hundreds of thousands in sales weekly. Despite the demanding nature of my role—dealing with large quantities of yogurt, ordering products, and organizing for efficiency—I often feel bored and undercompensated. It's exhausting work, and I go home drained, yet the value of my efforts isn't fully recognized. I have a few options, but none seem ideal. The first is to stay in my current position, which feels like a dead end. The second option is to transition to a different role, possibly in a warehouse setting, but that would offer similar pay and doesn't excite me. I have some federal internship experience, but my autism and anxiety make office dynamics challenging, and I dread sitting at a desk for long hours. Moving into a supervisory role is another possibility, but that would mean dealing with people all day, which is exhausting for me. I struggle with communication and focusing on others for extended periods. Lastly, I could retrain in a new field, but I lack a clear passion for anything that would be financially viable. I took a free medical assisting class, but it turned out to be something I found uncomfortable and too people-oriented. I have a general business degree, so I don't qualify for free college, and I'm at a loss for what to do next. I've even tried working with an autism coach, but they wanted me to have a clear idea of what I wanted, which I just don't have right now. This uncertainty is really taking a toll on my spirit and sense of identity.
