Reflecting on Company Layoffs and Their Impact on Quality and Morale

I’ve been reflecting on the recent layoffs happening at my company, which seem to mirror the trends I’ve been reading about in larger corporations. We’re seeing a lot of forced retirements, layoffs, and firings, followed by a push to rehire cheaper labor. It feels like a strategy to cut costs, but the impact on our product quality is alarming. Customers are voicing their frustrations, and I’ve noticed some loyal clients switching to competitors. I can’t shake the feeling that the executives might be intentionally steering us towards failure. Is it possible that CEOs and VPs would conspire to bring down a company, or are they simply negligent in their decision-making? It seems like a vicious cycle: cutting knowledgeable staff to save money leads to declining quality, which drives away more customers. I’m genuinely worried we might be in a death spiral, and I’m left wondering what I might be missing in this situation.
