Seeking Honest Career Advice After Multiple Job Setbacks and Layoffs

I’m 29 years old and currently unemployed, which has me feeling quite anxious about my career trajectory. I have around four years of experience in roles like Business Analysis, Consulting, and Data Analysis, but it hasn’t been a smooth ride. My education includes a BBA with a concentration in information systems, and I’m also working towards my PMP certification, expected by July 2026. My work history includes an internship as a Business Analyst at a large aerospace organization for about eight months, followed by a four-month stint as a Project Coordinator, which wasn’t very relevant but helped me pay the bills. After a three-month gap, I worked as a Data Reporting Analyst at a major airline for a year and five months before I left for what I thought was a better opportunity. Unfortunately, I was laid off from my next role as an Implementation Consultant at a big consulting firm after a year and three months due to restructuring. After another six-month gap, I returned to the aerospace sector as an Intermediate Operations Data Analyst for seven months, only to be laid off again for the same reason. I then took a nine-month contract as a Project Admin/Analyst, which wasn't very relevant, and I tried my hand at Accounting/Financial Reporting but was fired after eight months due to performance issues. I feel like my biggest challenge is that I haven’t been able to stay at any company for longer than two years, and I haven’t received any promotions. I’m eager to grow and find stability, but it feels like every time I get close, something falls apart. I recently had a final interview for a Business Analyst role through a referral but didn’t get the job, likely due to my short tenures. I have another final interview lined up next week, but I'm not holding my breath as leads have been scarce and rejections have been frequent. Living in Vancouver, Canada, doesn’t help either, as the job market here seems limited compared to other regions. I’m reaching out for brutally honest advice about my situation. I want to know how bad it really is, what career paths are still open to me, whether I should stick with Business Analysis/Consulting or pivot to something else, and if I should accept a lower-paying role just to get back into the workforce. I’m also concerned about how my age, employment gaps, and limited experience will affect my long-term career prospects. I’m looking for guidance on how to approach the next few months and whether it’s realistic to recover from this situation. I appreciate any honest feedback, even if it’s uncomfortable.
