I recently found myself at a crossroads in my career at 41, navigating through a midlife crisis while living in Atlanta. With a diverse range of experiences, I’m trying to figure out the best approach to job searching. The last few years have been challenging, involving gig work as I dealt with personal issues like a divorce, eviction, and even a repo. I’ve been advised not to view this time as a gap in my employment, but rather as a period of survival where I was consulting and managing various commitments. I’ve been considering splitting my resume into multiple versions since I have three main areas of expertise: IT support, ed tech/higher education, and program coordination. I realize that using a single, generic resume might not effectively showcase my skills across these different fields. I’m eager to find a role that aligns with my experiences and passions, and I’m open to any tips or advice on how to navigate this job search effectively.
