I'm currently working full-time at a large medical facility, and I'm applying for a per diem position at another healthcare institution to supplement my income. I have a bit of a dilemma regarding my employment history. I previously worked part-time at a job for 16 years, but due to personal circumstances, I had to resign and decided to leave that job off my resume when applying for new positions. Now that I'm going through the application process for this new per diem role, I found out that the employer uses Cisive for background checks, which includes employment verification. I'm unsure whether I should disclose that long-term job on the Cisive background check, even though I left it off my resume. I'm not trying to hide anything illegal; I'm just concerned about how my former employer might respond if contacted, given the circumstances of my departure. Would it be seen as dishonest if they find out I omitted that job from my employment history? Or is it acceptable to only include what I listed on my application? I would appreciate any insights from those who have experience with Cisive background checks or healthcare hiring.
