Navigating guilt after accepting a new remote job while in training for a promotion

I recently accepted a new job offer while still in training for a promotion at my current company, and I’m feeling a mix of excitement and guilt. I've been with my current employer for almost two years and had been feeling stagnant. Despite applying for several internal roles, I didn't see any progress or pay increase, which was frustrating. Last month, I finally got picked for a new team that offered a slight pay bump, but I had already started interviewing elsewhere by that time. The new position is fully remote, offers better total compensation, and aligns much better with my long-term life plans, so I decided to accept the offer. They’ve already sent me the necessary equipment, and my start date is in three weeks. However, I’m still in training for the promoted role at my current job, which wraps up in two weeks. I need to give my two weeks' notice soon, and I feel guilty about leaving right after they promoted me. I know this decision is best for my future, especially since my current company doesn’t allow remote work outside the city, and I plan to relocate next year. I would have had to leave eventually anyway. What’s really stressing me out is how to approach my manager about this. I’ve heard that sometimes companies walk employees out immediately after they resign, and I’m worried about their reaction, especially since I just accepted the promotion. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle giving notice while in training? Did your company let you finish out your notice period, or did they let you go right away? I could really use some advice on how to cope with this guilt too.
