I've been actively job hunting for over a year now, and I've had a frustrating experience with two part-time minimum wage job interviews where I was verbally offered the position but never received any official job offer emails. After the first time, I brushed it off as an unfortunate incident, but when it happened again, I started to wonder if there was something wrong with me or if this is just how companies operate nowadays. Both times, I was told to wait for an official email confirming my hiring, but then I was met with total silence. I tried following up with phone calls and even left voicemails, but I never got any responses. In the first instance, I even went to the store in person, but the manager was supposedly out of the office. It feels incredibly unprofessional and disheartening, especially since these are big box stores. I consider myself polite and maintain good eye contact during interviews, and I have several years of relevant experience along with open availability. I can't understand why, after being told I was chosen and even receiving training dates, the communication just stops. I'm starting to wonder if I'm giving off some sort of vibe that leads them to feel they can ghost me. I would really appreciate any advice on how to navigate this situation or if anyone else has experienced something similar.
