I’m a 27-year-old with a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication and an MBA specializing in Analytics and Marketing. I've been working in energy policy for a year, and I feel lost in my job search. Currently, I work on projects with the World Bank and the Ministry of Power, which has been an amazing experience, but my salary is only 8 LPA. My father has made it clear that I can only marry my girlfriend once I hit the 12 LPA mark. I’m looking to move to Bengaluru to be with her, but I’ve had no luck finding a job that pays what I need. I’ve sent over 300 LinkedIn notes for referrals, cold-emailed more than 50 people, and applied to 50+ jobs, yet I haven’t received a single callback. I’m targeting roles in energy modeling and ESG, but I’m starting to wonder if these positions are just too rare in Bengaluru or if my one year of experience is holding me back. I’m also considering pivoting to Data Analytics roles since my MBA specialization could help me there. I’d love any advice on how to leverage my experience on my resume or insight into whether I should change my focus entirely. I’m feeling really confused and would appreciate any guidance.
