I recently had an interview for a position at a company I've been eager to join since graduating college. The interview was conducted via Teams, and I felt it went exceptionally well. The interviewers complimented me on my personable and outgoing nature, which gave me a boost of confidence. They mentioned that I was the first candidate they interviewed and that I was quick to respond to the scheduling email, which I took as a positive sign. After the interview, they informed me that they would get back to me within a week or two, which is typical. However, just an hour later, I received an email inviting me for an in-person interview, described as a tour of the office. I suspect this may involve more than just a tour, but that's how it was presented. I'm trying to gauge whether this is a good indicator of my chances for the role or if this is a common practice nowadays. I feel optimistic, especially since they reached out so quickly after our conversation. However, I want to be realistic and not set myself up for disappointment. Any insights from others who have been in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated.
