Seeking Guidance on Transitioning to a Fulfilling Nonprofit Career

I am currently 28 years old and living in the Midwest, seeking a full-time career focused on community or charity work that pays at least $20 an hour and accommodates my disability. My background includes general managing restaurants, sales, photography, and cannabis, but I've struggled with most of these roles, often leading to mental breakdowns on the job. The only positions I found fulfilling were in the restaurant industry, where I enjoyed providing healthy food and working with a supportive team. However, due to my current mental health challenges and disability, returning to that environment is not feasible for me. I've realized that I need a workplace with decent coworkers who maintain professionalism and a management team that stands against bigotry and harassment. More importantly, I want to contribute to work that has real meaning, rather than just profit-driven goals. I'm exploring options in the nonprofit sector but am unsure how to navigate this path, especially without a college degree, as I've heard these positions can be competitive. Any advice on how to break into community or charity careers that meet my financial needs would be greatly appreciated.
