Navigating Interview Questions After Job Termination Due to Management Issues

I was recently terminated from my position due to poor management practices at my last job. Despite being one of the top performers on my team, I faced personal issues with management, which ultimately led to my dismissal. I've been actively searching for a new opportunity, but I've encountered a common question during interviews: "What happened at your last job?" I'm feeling uncertain about how to respond. Should I be honest about the situation, or would that hurt my chances? I've received various suggestions, such as saying it wasn't a good fit, or that I was let go for political reasons. I'm considering keeping my explanation vague and focusing on my accomplishments instead. Any advice on how to navigate this tricky question would be greatly appreciated.
