I recently got laid off and I'm looking to connect with others in a similar situation. This Monday, August 24th, I'll be joining a hiking group at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, California. It's a 4.5-mile loop with a 367 ft gain, and it's a great opportunity to clear my head and meet new people who are navigating their own career transitions. The hike starts at 11 am, and I love that they split into smaller groups based on pace to keep things manageable on the trail. I appreciate that this community, (un)PTO, does more than just hikes; they also offer support for job searching and other activities like co-working and social events. I’m looking forward to getting some fresh air and hopefully making some valuable connections!
