I recently got laid off and found a great way to connect with others in similar situations. This Monday, October 26, I'm joining a hiking group at Reinhardt Regional Park in Oakland, California. It's a 5-mile loop with a 636 ft elevation gain, and it's a perfect opportunity to clear my head while meeting new people who are also navigating their job searches. The hike starts at 11 am, and I appreciate that the group usually splits into smaller ones based on pace, which makes it more enjoyable. I’ve been looking for ways to network and support others in the same boat, and this community, (un)PTO, does more than just hikes. They also host co-working sessions and casual meetups. I’m excited to get out on the trails and hope to see some friendly faces there!
