Frustrated with job title mismatch as production operative and team leader responsibilities

I’ve been working as a production operative through an agency for the past 7 weeks, and the company is happy with my performance and wants to offer me a permanent contract. However, the job title doesn’t match my actual responsibilities. Since the previous team leader left, I’ve taken on many of their duties unofficially due to my experience. I oversee and train the other workers, assign tasks, and even report on our daily targets to the operations manager. I was even given the responsibility to let go of two agency workers based on their performance. When I requested a revision to my job title to reflect my role as team leader, I was told that it would only be a temporary arrangement until things became more organized—something I’m skeptical about. Given the low wage they offered along with the contract and the lack of acknowledgment for my additional responsibilities, I’m feeling frustrated. I’m seriously considering just signing the contract and then handing in my notice shortly after. I don’t think further discussions would lead to any meaningful change or a better wage. What should I do?
