I was interviewing for an associate director position at a pharmaceutical company and had gone through four interviews: one with the recruiter, one with the hiring manager, and two panel interviews with the extended team. After my first panel interview, I noticed that the job was reposted just two days later. I thought it might have been an automatic process since the position had been listed for about two months already. I was originally told that a decision would be made by the end of July, but it had been two weeks since my last panel interview without any communication regarding an offer or rejection. I decided to follow up with the recruiter, who informed me that they were still interviewing additional candidates and had chosen to extend the timeline for their decision. Now, I'm left wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar situation and still received an offer. I can't help but feel that I'm not the top choice, but since I haven't been outright rejected yet, I still hold onto a glimmer of hope. Am I being naive for thinking there might still be a chance?
