After 8.5 months, I received a job offer I didn't apply for—what a surprise!

After 8.5 months of relentless job hunting, I finally received an offer from a company I interviewed with, and it feels incredible! The offer isn't anything extraordinary, but after such a long search, I couldn't be happier. The interesting twist? I never actually applied for this job. A few months back, I used some resume distribution websites that connect candidates to talent networks, and I had completely forgotten about it. I was expecting quick results back then, but nothing came of it, so it slipped my mind. Fast forward to now, and out of the blue, I get an offer from a company I didn’t even actively pursue. It’s a stark contrast to my previous job hunt three years ago, where I landed a position after just 37 applications in a couple of months. The job market has certainly changed, and I want to wish good luck to everyone still searching. If you have a job, please think twice before quitting without another lined up; this market is not what it used to be.
