Navigating unexpected duties in my new Community Marketing LVN role

I recently started a new role as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at a large healthcare organization in California, specifically titled "Community Marketing LVN." Initially, I was excited about the position, as it was advertised as a standard clinical community nursing role focused on conducting health screenings and providing support at public events. However, upon starting, I quickly realized that the job was not what I had signed up for. The internal job profile revealed that I was expected to handle significant commercial and sales tracking duties that were never mentioned in the job posting or my offer letter. This includes tracking membership growth and managing CRM marketing data, which feels completely out of place for a nursing role. Additionally, I am being asked to perform multiple jobs: conducting clinical screenings, managing marketing leads, and running health education workshops for seniors, all while also traveling and setting up events on my own. When I addressed these discrepancies with my supervisor and the commercial manager, they seemed unaware of the commercial duties listed in the internal profile. Unfortunately, they were not able to offer me a raise at this time and suggested waiting until January to reassess my compensation. They even recommended pursuing further education to become a Certified Health Education Specialist, which feels like a way to sidestep the real issue of my current workload and compensation. Currently, I am an hourly worker making $32.88 per hour, and I often work overtime, which would be lost if I were to move to a salaried position without proper compensation adjustments. I have learned that the internal profile with the added duties was included in my onboarding documents, which I overlooked due to onboarding fatigue. My plan is to maintain my current schedule, focus on my core clinical responsibilities, and apply for internal transfers to more traditional nursing roles as soon as I hit my six-month mark on January 2nd. I’m seeking advice on how to navigate this situation effectively, whether I should continue coasting until my transfer date, and how to frame this experience when applying for new roles without sounding bitter about the unexpected changes in my job description.
