I have been waiting for an offer from a company for the past two months after going through two rounds of interviews. I reached the offer stage where I was initially given a salary and we started discussing a start date. After a few follow-ups, the recruiter informed me that due to a new HR process, the offer was reduced by $25k, and asked if I was still interested. I negotiated again, but after a week, the recruiter inquired about the start date, even though all the proposed dates had already passed. I suggested a new start date about 3.5 weeks out, but I still haven't received any updates. Now, I'm getting anxious as we are nearing the end of my two weeks' notice period, and it looks like I might have to push the start date again. I'm starting to wonder if this company is going to flake on me completely. Why would they spend three months on interviews only to leave me hanging? The recruiter has been poor at keeping me updated throughout this process.
