I recently received a verbal and written job offer for a position that is contingent on passing a drug test and a background check. I promptly submitted my urine sample and authorized the background check the very next day. After waiting for about a week without any updates, I reached out to the acquisition representative who made the offer. He informed me that the process could take up to two weeks. I also contacted the company handling the background checks, and they mentioned that 99% of the checks come back clean, but they are still waiting for confirmation from the county. Since I've only lived in this area for a year and a half, I don't expect any issues to arise. The due date for the background check is set for tomorrow, October 27th. I'm considering whether I should wait until tomorrow afternoon to follow up again or if I should reach out sooner.
