I was caught off guard today when I learned that our legal counsel position was offshored. I always thought roles in Tax and Legal were secure, but it seems that assumption was wrong. The new counsel is based in India and holds a local law degree, but lacks any overseas experience. This has really shaken my confidence in job security across all sectors. I've decided it's time to update my resume and start looking for new opportunities.
