I’ve been working as a 1099 contractor at a startup for over a year now, and I’m starting to question whether I should just quit. The CEO has repeatedly mentioned wanting to bring me on as a full-time employee, but that hasn’t happened yet, despite the company’s recent success and my contributions to it. I’m considering telling him that if he wants to continue my contract, my hourly rate will need to increase since it’s been over a year. Additionally, I’m feeling frustrated after hearing him make a comment about me looking older than my age, which has made me rethink whether I even want to work for him. I’m tired of the empty promises and am starting to wonder if I could find something less stressful to do with my time.
