Navigating the emotional aftermath of a layoff and finding motivation again

I recently experienced a layoff from my job, and initially, I was excited about the opportunity to focus on myself and my creative projects. I had some savings and even a small business to fall back on. After the layoff, I took some time off to enjoy the summer with my family, but that quickly turned into a two-month period of inactivity. Now, I find myself dropping my son off at school and then just lounging around, wasting hours doomscrolling on my phone. I feel heavy and exhausted, relying on caffeine to get through the day, but I can't seem to muster the motivation to do anything productive. As night falls, anxiety sets in, and I start doubting my abilities and future. I really miss the structure and control I had over my life before the layoff. I've started reading to combat the doomscrolling, but I know I need to get back into a routine. I’ve heard that small steps can help, but right now, I feel stuck. Has anyone else faced a similar struggle when losing their routine? I didn’t expect this to hit me so hard.
