I received an unexpected email from a big company I interviewed with a couple of months ago. After going through the final interview stage, I was rejected and told that all positions were filled. They mentioned keeping my application on file, but I didn't think much of it at the time. Fast forward to now, and they reached out to let me know that a candidate dropped out, and they want to have a 'catch up' call to discuss logistics. They even mentioned that they appreciated my proactive follow-ups after the rejection and think I could be a strong fit for the role. I'm feeling hopeful but trying to manage my expectations since I have no prior experience with situations like this. The call is scheduled for first thing Monday, and I’m both excited and nervous about what it could mean for my job search.
