I've been job searching for the past 8 months and I'm starting to feel like it's time for a change. Currently, I'm waiting tables in Austin, which I landed in just 2 days after applying, and I received about 7 other job offers within a week after sending out around 25 applications for part-time restaurant positions. However, finding a full-time salaried job has been a completely different story. I've submitted over 900 applications and despite my efforts, I haven't had any success. I've tailored my resume and cover letters for each position, I have a college degree, and I make sure to send follow-up emails when I can find contact information. I've been applying across various industries and even started looking for jobs all over the country recently. Still, I feel stuck. It's disheartening to see such a stark contrast in the job market, especially when it comes to securing a full-time position. I never anticipated it would be this difficult. I feel like only those who have been in the job search trenches truly understand this struggle. I'm considering relocating to a different city, even without a job lined up, as I think being in a new local market might improve my chances. I’m open to any advice on this front—whether it’s about moving, potential cities to consider, or companies that are hiring. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
