I was laid off from my job on September 4th, and I recently received a job offer that starts on August 31st. I'm trying to figure out if I can overlap the two positions to still receive my severance package without any issues. I'm considering whether I should just give my two weeks' notice and avoid the overlap altogether. I've read that some people have had overlaps for months without problems, and it seems like the severance is tied to my previous employer, not the new one.
