I'm currently in a job that I really enjoy, and I appreciate my coworkers, but my commute is over an hour, which has become unmanageable with my family commitments. I've started applying for positions closer to home and have secured an interview for next week. The application process required me to provide details about my current role and supervisor. I'm feeling a bit anxious about when to inform my supervisor, whom I respect greatly, about my job search. I want to be proactive and let her know before she potentially gets contacted for a reference after my interview. Am I being too cautious in thinking I should discuss this with her beforehand? I would appreciate any advice on how to handle this situation.
