I recently left a toxic job without giving the standard two weeks' notice, and it's been a bit of a whirlwind since then. I was really worried about how this would affect my reputation, especially since a few coworkers who agreed to be my references ended up ghosting me. It feels like they took my departure personally, which is frustrating. Now that I'm at a new company, I can't shake the fear that my past will come back to haunt me, especially if I run into old colleagues. I haven't updated my LinkedIn profile yet because I want to keep my new position under wraps for now. My biggest concern is that some vindictive coworkers might reach out to my new employer to spill the beans about my abrupt exit. I really hope to avoid any awkward encounters with them in the future. Has anyone else experienced something similar after leaving a job without notice?
