I had an interview today for an office position, and they actually had me fill out paperwork and sign some documents. They mentioned that they need to run a background check before finalizing everything, but I'm feeling a bit skeptical about the whole process. It seems too easy and straightforward compared to my past experiences where I often got ghosted. I'm worried that they might still hire someone else or come up with a reason to back out of the offer, even though I understand that a conditional offer is meant to be for background checks. I have seen how quickly companies can hire, especially in staffing roles, and it makes me anxious. I just hope this isn't another situation where I get let down after feeling hopeful.
