My gut feeling was spot on; my entire department was being laid off. Now I have two months to find a new role within the company, but opportunities in my area are scarce, and financially, I can't afford to relocate. While the severance package is generous and gives me some breathing room, I feel overwhelmed by the situation. I haven't had the chance to make a significant impact in my short time here, and the job market seems bleak.
