I have six weeks left at my job, and it honestly feels like torture. I'm currently in a transitional phase where I'm losing my position due to offshore replacements. As part of my severance agreement, I’ve been tasked with training my replacements over the past two months. Just when I thought I could take a break, I returned from a short trip only to find messages piling up and an impromptu meeting with leadership confirming that I need to continue supporting this transition until my last day. Meanwhile, my teammates are acting as if everything is normal, continuously piling work onto my plate. I'm just counting down the days until I'm free from this place and the constant office politics. Although my experience is deemed invaluable, it's frustrating to see others doing nothing while I’m overloaded with tasks. My senior director even mentioned that I've got a 'free pass' for a few more months, as if that’s some kind of favor. It feels more like they’re just trying to cover their own backs. I’m really struggling with how to get through these last weeks. I don't care about the office politics anymore; I just want to move on to the next chapter of my life. It’s disheartening to see senior management so out of touch, expecting me to report all the issues while showing no respect or empathy for what I’m going through. I’m just ready to be done.
