I’ve been working in an administrative role for about two months now, after a long and frustrating job search that lasted nearly two years. Before this, I was stuck in a fast-food job, which was a far cry from my field of study. Initially, I was excited about this new position because it seemed like a stepping stone towards something more aligned with my career goals. They mentioned that if we showed potential, we could eventually transition into more relevant roles. However, things took a turn when a mistake was made by our team, and we all ended up sharing the blame. This incident created a lot of stress and tension in the office. Since then, the atmosphere has been incredibly strained. We’re isolated, and communication is almost non-existent. Asking questions feels like a risk, yet not asking leads to mistakes that could further jeopardize our positions. I’m feeling overwhelmed and anxious, and I’m starting to doubt my ability to continue in this job. It’s hard to find any support or understanding from my colleagues, and I honestly don’t know how much longer I can handle this situation.
