Navigating a CV Discrepancy Before Starting at a Consulting Firm

I recently received a job offer from a large consulting firm and am currently preparing for the background verification process. Before the checks began, I noticed a discrepancy in my CV: I had grouped an unpaid, part-time internship with my formal employment at the same company, which made it appear as though I had been employed the entire time. My actual formal employment started a few months later. Realizing this could be an issue, I reached out to the recruiter to explain the situation and sent an updated CV that clearly separated the internship from my formal employment dates. The recruiter acknowledged my update and said they would circulate the revised version. Now, I’m left wondering if I made the right choice by being proactive about this discrepancy. Should I have just left the original CV as is and clarified the dates during the background checks? I'm also concerned about whether the hiring manager will see this updated CV or if it will only be handled by HR or the onboarding team. Could this situation jeopardize my job offer?
